It is recommended for students to seek academic advising at least once a semester to ensure they are on track toward meeting degree requirements and plan for upcoming courses. Below are some helpful tips and resources to supplement academic advising and assist with self-guided semester planning.

- Familiarize yourself with Degree Audit and Plans.
- You can reference your degree progress, student classification, catalog year, and GPAs on your degree audit in TXST Self-Service.
- Plans will feature advising notes from previous advising meetings and/or Advising Plan Requests.

Long Range Planning
- To tentatively plan for future semesters and anticipated graduation, use the Long-Range Planning Form.
- Keep in mind course offerings each semester are tentative and subject to change.
- Check the Undergraduate Catalog and CatsWeb for course restrictions and prerequisites. The Undergraduate Catalog features a four year plan for each major that accommodates prerequisites and course sequencing recommended by the departments.

Education Abroad
McCoy College students can participate in a variety of programs offered through Education Abroad to earn course credit and enhance global engagement
Honors College
McCoy College students admitted to the Honors College can take specialized courses to apply toward TXST core curriculum and select business degree requirements
